Principal’s Message 

Kasese Youth Polytechnic’s geographical location places it at the core of the country’s Electricity production area, faster growing border towns and we are proud to be the main supplier of Electrical professionals involved in the running of factories and construction sites in western Uganda. Our Electrical and Solar Energy, Building construction and Plumbing graduates find a ready job market at the nearby electricity production plants like Kilembe Investment Limited(KIL), UMEME  and in the faster growing towns.

We have also partnered with various players, Building and Construction companies, Wood and Nail, Hima Cement Factory, Kilembe Investment Limited (KIL) and others to ensure our trainees possess skills relevant to industry. This ensures that their chances of getting employment opportunities as soon as they graduate are greatly enhanced. Our annual placement rate stands at over 75 percent as reflected from our recent tracer studies. Enabel (Belgian Development Agency) has particularly been supportive to our endeavours to becoming Centre of Excellence in Electrical and a polytechnic of choice not just for western but Uganda as a whole. Enabel financed the construction and equipping of the new modern Building Construction and Electrical workshops, which have already been completed and commissioned.

Locally, we appreciate the support that has been extended to us by the Ugandan Government, Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board (UBTEB), We have also set up and equipped computer laboratories through the help of Enabel (Belgian Development Agency) to ensure our students get easy access to computer training and high speed internet connectivity via fire Cable through National Information Technology Authority Uganda(NITA-U), which will expand their access to learning materials. This will ensure that we continue producing out graduands who are well versed with digital technology, which in today’s world has become one of the basic necessities if you are to succeed in life.
